Put, Files 2 Folder provides a quick and easy way to organize your files by adding a new option to the right-click menu in the File Explorer tool, which allows you to arrange files by name and type or date of creation.

The program does not require installation, so after downloading it, decompress the file, right-click on Files2Folder.exe, and choose Run as Administrator to run it in administrator mode. Once finished, whenever you want to organize the files in a folder, select the files, then right-click and select the “Files 2 Folder” option. A new window will appear, containing four options for organizing files. The first stores the selected files in a subfolder with the name of your choice. The second option leads to managing files in folders with the first name of each file, while the third option stores files in folders according to each type, and the last one leads to organizing files in folders named with a specific date.

Another free program for organizing files in Windows, where Download Mover monitors a folder that you specify in advance, and then any file stored in this folder is automatically converted to another folder according to each file type. The program was designed primarily to monitor the Downloads folder, a default location for storing any files downloaded from the Internet. Still, you can use it to watch any other folder.

After running the program, click on the “New” button in the Watched directories section, then select the folder that you want the program to monitor, whether Downloads or others. After that, you need to create a database that includes file types and their respective folders by pressing the New button in the Files to move section. For example, to move compressed ZIP files to a specific folder, we add the ZIP format in the “add file type” window, and after pressing “Next,” we choose the folder designated to contain the compressed files.
After completion, press the “Minimize” button so that the program remains running in the background to monitor any new files stored in the specified primary folder. When it identifies a file mentioned in the database, it automatically sends it to the assigned folder.
