Add the Recycle Bin to the taskbar: The Recycle Bin tool is integral to the Windows system. As the name suggests, it is a place that collects all the files that the user deleted by pressing the Delete option so that they are not removed forever. Still, another opportunity exists to recover any file if It was deleted by mistake. By default, the tool’s icon is placed on the desktop, where you can empty the Recycle Bin or access it, view its contents, and restore any files. But if you use the Recycle Bin tool often, you may be looking for a way to allow faster access to the device. This method is to place the icon on the taskbar, as in other operating systems, whether macOS or Ubuntu, so that it is in front of you wherever you move between programs and windows, and it takes no more than one click to view deleted files. Let me tell you how it’s done.
1. Add Recycle Bin to toolbars
In case you didn’t know, the taskbar has included a feature called “toolbars” since ancient times that allows users to include additional functions in the taskbar, such as quick access to folders or web pages you frequent frequently. This feature is present in all versions of Windows up to Windows 10, and it is excellent that it can be used to create a shortcut to the Recycle Bin to be accessed faster. All you have to do is right-click on the desktop and point the mouse cursor towards “New” and then “Folder” to create a new folder that you can name “Recycle Bin.” Then drag the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop to this folder to create a shortcut.
After that, right-click on the taskbar, then make sure that the “Lock taskbar” option is not activated by removing the checkmark (✔) next to it, and from the same menu, point the mouse pointer towards “Toolbars” and click on the “New toolbar” option. The Choose a folder window will open. Select the “Recycle Bin” folder that contains a shortcut to the Recycle Bin tool, then click “Select Folder.” Once you do, the Recycle Bin icon appears on the right of the taskbar.
To make the icon appear more clearly, right-click in any empty place next to the hero, then from the list that appears, deselect the options “Show Text” and “Show title” so that only the icon is displayed without the label. Also, use the “View” menu and select “Large Icons” to indicate the hero in size approximately equal to the height of the taskbar.
As such, the Recycle Bin icon is now pinned to the taskbar, so the contents of the recently deleted files will be displayed with a single click. In addition, you can drag any file to this icon, and it will be sent to the Recycle Bin immediately. Thus you will not need to press the Delete button on the keyboard to delete the files. Finally, it is recommended to enable the “Lock taskbar” option again to ensure that the icon is not moved by mistake
2. Add a Recycle Bin shortcut to the taskbar
Since Microsoft redesigned the taskbar from scratch in the Windows 11 version, the “toolbars” feature is no longer supported in the system, as with older versions. Therefore, the previous method will not work. However, there is still an alternative way to add the Recycle Bin as a shortcut on the taskbar. To do this, right-click anywhere on the desktop, choose “New,” and select “Shortcut” from the dropdown menu. A new window will appear containing the “Type the location of the item” field; enter the following command in it, then click Next and assign a name to the shortcut, the actual name of the tool being “Recycle Bin,” then click Finish.
You now have a shortcut to the Recycle Bin, but you may want to customize the shortcut icon to look more like the Recycle Bin tool than the default icon. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select “Properties.” From the Properties window, click on “Change Icon” to open a window containing available icons that do not include the Recycle Bin icon, so enter the following command in the “Look for icons in this file” field and press Enter to display The icon library are complete, so choose the icon that looks like the Recycle Bin tool.
After you’re done, drag and drop the shortcut onto the Windows 11 taskbar. This should pin the Recycle Bin icon to the toolbar next to the other heroes. But if it did not work for any reason, right-click on the shortcut and select “Show more options,” then select the “Pin to taskbar” option to install the shortcut directly on the taskbar. This is a helpful shortcut in the toolbar, as you can now open the Recycle Bin without returning to the desktop.
3. Use the MiniBin tool
Although the previous methods are supposed to facilitate access to the Recycle Bin, another technique that provides more control options is the free MiniBin tool, which provides the functionality of accessing and controlling the Recycle Bin directly from the taskbar. Once the device is installed, a recycle mini bin icon will be automatically added to the toolbar next to the clock. To pin the icon and make it visible permanently, press the up arrow button and drag the MiniBin icon to place it anywhere next to the clock.
Note that the MiniBin icon reflects the percentage occupied by the Recycle Bin, so the icon will be empty if the Recycle Bin does not contain any deleted files. You can also hover your mouse pointer over the icon to see the total space occupied by deleted files. Anyway, by default, the tool will empty the Recycle Bin when you double-click the hero, but you can change that by right-clicking on the MiniBin device and selecting “Configure” then “Icon Double-Click Action” and selecting “Open” to display the contents of the recycle bin when Double click on the icon
